THANKSGIVING SURVIVAL GUIDE (AS TOLD BY THE BRIDGEWATER TEAM)

Whether you like it or not, Thanksgiving is only a few days away and with Thanksgiving comes the crazy gatherings and the hectic holiday traditions.

Thanksgiving means so many different things to so many people. For my family and I, Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of visiting family in Chicago - exploring the city, doing a little shopping, enjoying lots of down time, looking at Christmas lights, and lots of eating and drinking followed by long walks through the cold city streets as a family.

As we walked around the office asking the Bridgewater team about their Thanksgiving traditions, disaster stories, and tips, we discovered what the holiday means to them. Thanksgiving is a time to gather with friends, with family, and for some, that unwanted plus-one your brother seems to bring every year. Thanksgiving is a time of driving obnoxious distances, eating absurd amounts of food (that don't have to be traditionally bland), and then collapsing on the couch for a weekend marathon of football and bad Hallmark Christmas movies; And we would be remiss to leave out the craziness of Black Friday. But no matter what you are doing this Thanksgiving, we can all agree that Thanksgiving is a time to stop and reflect -even if only for a moment - on the goodness of life and all its blessings.

So whether you love the holiday or try to avoid it at all costs, Thanksgiving is just about here. We have compiled a few of our favorite Thanksgiving tips, tricks, traditions, and disaster stories from an afternoon of walking around Bridgewater HQ to put together a survival guide that will help you make the most of your Thanksgiving 2019!
